Dietitians face uncertainty because eating disorder best practices are still evolving, there is still no consensus definition of recovery, and debates continue about harm reduction and other ethical matters.  Bring your challenging situations to this advanced session (or submit them anonymously in advance), where veteran eating disorder dietitian Jessica Setnick will offer guidance and address the topics that keep the field buzzing.

SAVE THE DATE: A Conference That Was Too Real for the National Stage – So We Built Our Own

A special message from Talia Bidner, IFEDD Summer Intern and Conference Coordinator:

Hi everyone, I’m Talia Bidner, IFEDD’s Summer Intern, and I’m thrilled to announce the first IFEDD conference

When I started working with Jessica this summer, she assigned me this project, to provide a platform for IFEDD speakers rejected by FNCE.

It was a simple idea – if the Academy is outdated and doesn’t understand what we do, then the very presentations they think of as too bold, too specialized, or too focused on eating disorders are the EXACT ones IFEDD members want to hear.

Just like us, these presentations were dismissed as “not important enough.” So we’re reclaiming that narrative. We’re reasserting the value, the relevance, the essential role of the eating disorder dietitian. And I’m also planning a general meeting and smaller group discussions about the major issues impacting the field. 

All I have right now is the date, Saturday, September 13, possibly 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM Central Time. 

All you need to do is mark your calendar and save the date.
