Help Us Continue Our Work

The Eating Disorder Support Fund is the fundraising arm of the International Federation of Eating Disorder Dietitians. It is separate legal entity with IRS 501(c)(3) status, so all contributions are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law.

Donations to The Eating Disorder Support Fund may be specified toward one of our current programs (see descriptions below) or to our general fund and will be recognized with an emailed receipt for tax purposes.

Access to Care Project, established in 2023 to fight insurance discrimination against individuals experiencing eating disorders, works to educate dietitians and the public about their rights under the ACA and MHPAEA laws. We provide coaching and instructions for insurance appeals of wrongful denials and complaints to insurance regulatory agencies in hopes to both obtain reimbursement for outpatient services and to change the system overall.

General Fund donations are used to pay our bills, maintain our listserv and website, our memberships in the Eating Disorder Coalition and the Coalition of Eating Disorder Organizations, to support members in need, send members to Washington, DC for the Eating Disorder Coalition’s Advocacy Day, member trainings, and special projects where they can be best utilized.

Lisa Pearl Seeds of Change Fund, established in 2023 in recognition of the unsung career accomplishments of Lisa Pearl toward advancing the role and scope of the dietitian in the treatment of eating disorders. The Lisa Pearl Seeds of Change Fund supports research related to eating disorders, nutrition, and the role of the dietitian.

If you would like to fund one of our initiatives through a private foundation or other entity, or if you would like to establish a new fund, please contact info@eddietitians.com or 214-503-7100.
